A SEARCHING HEART

Nicodemus went a searching
Fore his life it was not right
He felt there was something missing
So he went searching through the night

The darkness of Nicodemus
It was about to be exposed
He was a religious man you see
That’s how the story goes

He was taught to obey the law of Yah
He was chief of the Pharisees
He knew the scriptures inside out
But still he could not see

As he wandered through the streets at night
Searching for the missing piece
The Messiah was just down the road
Waiting patiently

As Nicodemus approached the light
He was about to see
That this was more than just a man
This man would set men free

Yahwah said to the searching heart
Except a man be born again
He cannot see the Kingdom of God
And that’s the truth my friend

Then, Nicodemus asked the Messiah
Oh how can these things be
We cannot return to our mothers womb
Please help me that I may see

That which is born of the flesh is flesh
He cannot enter in
That which is born of the Spirit is Spirit
He is born again

As Moses lifted up the serpent
In the wilderness of sin
Even so the Son of Man
May be lifted up my friend

As Nicodemus walked away
He did not understand
But when he saw the Messiah upon the cross
Then he knew Yahwah paid the price for sin

The Messiah was made sin and crucified
And put upon a pole
The sting of death no longer reigns
For those who may behold

So if you’re a Nicodemus
And searching through the night
Remember there is only one thing to do
To seek Gods truth and light

His name is Yahwah
He’s not to far away
He’s waiting patiently for you
To take the step today
